- Feline infectious peritonitis is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of feline coronavirus. Listlessness, lethargy, decreased or absent appetite, weight loss, and a fluctuating fever are commonly reported clinical signs. Some infected cats may have accumulation of fluid in body cavities.
