- Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD) is an incurable condition that impacts the stomach nerves in infected birds. This results in the stomach becoming enlarged and losing its ability to contract normally. PDD has been identified in over 50 different species of psittacines as well as various other birds, ranging from canaries to waterfowl.
